Liner Packers The Allamon Tool Company’s recently developed, patent pending, packer technology is not only swab resistant, but also boosts when a pressure differential is applied from either direction. When a pressure differential is applied in one direction, the seal element acts as a piston which pushes the bonded packing element up a taper, driving it tighter into the casing in which it is sealing. When a pressure differential is applied in the other direction, the seal element acts as a steel reinforcement swab cub. It does this by allowing the pressured media to infiltrate the space underneath the packing element and then it uses pressured media to push the packing element tighter into the casing in which it is sealing. Again, this means that the seal continues to get tighter as pressure is increased.
