III. Liner Systems - c.3.1. Eagle Dual Cone Hanger with ECS Liner Packer with Hold-down Slips – Mechanical
This tool is designed with all of the features of the original Eagle Dual Cone Hanger with ECS liner packer. This version of the technology additionally incorporates a hold-down slip which reduces risk of light liners, or liners in holes deviated more than 90 degrees from sliding “up-hole.” Combining the ECS Liner Packer and the Eagle Dual Cone Hanger provides cost benefits by elimination of a mandrel and multiple casing threads. Elimination of multiple casing threads reduces leak paths for a more robust design. The hanger is set via manipulation of the workstring and liner by righthand rotation (1/4 turn at the tool). The packer is set following the cement job by setting down drill pipe weight on the top of the packer by using the packer setting device included in the Allamon Tool Company liner running tool kit. This hanger/packer is robustly designed for installation in wellbores up to 40 degrees deviation and, because of the dual cone arrangement, is rated for use with medium to heavy liner loads.
