The Allamon Tool Company Diverter Sub is the flagship product of the surge
reduction tool line. It is the product upon which the company was founded. The
Diverter Sub has been utilized in more than 1000 applications and is the most
reliable, versatile, robust tool of its kind in the industry. A Diverter Sub is utilized
when deploying liners or sub-sea casing on a workstring in areas where formation
surge may be a problem. Operators are sold on the benefits of getting casing to
the desired depth, zero mud losses and improved zonal isolation. The Diverter
Sub provides these value added benefits by allowing well bore fluids to flow
from the wellbore below inside casing to the annular space above the casing
being installed, which greatly reduces surge on the open-hole formation by
eliminating the pressure drops across the casing/liner hanging equipment as
well as the pressure drop caused by the reduced ID of the workstring.
