The Shear Bonnet used by Allamon Tool Company is designed to act as a debris
barrier at the liner top as well as a shearable locking device that holds a liner
running tool in the extended position while handling and running. Keeping debris
out of the liner top is critical for proper retrieval of liner running tools. Ensuring
that running tool is not prematurely released during handling and running provides
for a reliable and safe deployment of a liner system.
