On many liner jobs the volume of the displacement of the workstring far exceeds
that of the liner. The operator is far more concerned about maintaining a lead and
follow barrier within the workstring, but not in the liner because the volume in
the liner is so small a portion of the total displacement. Allamon Tool Company
has developed the Single Wiper Plugs with Dart Catcher Option just for this
application. A lead dart is dropped ahead of the cement and then a follow dart is
dropped following the cement slurry. The first dart is caught by the single wiper
plug and displacement continues through the wiper plug until the second dart
releases the wiper plug and displacement is continued until the wiper plug
bumps on the landing collar. This tool is mostly constructed of Allamon produced
composite material which enhances plug reliability and drill-out.
